BRAINSTORMING--Group 2

Group Project Brainstorming -- Group 2

  1. Well, since no one else has come up with any ideas, I suppose we could do our project based on identifying an issue or problem in the community or with an individual within a selected context. We could interview someone within the gay or lesbian community, or someone within a racially or sexually exploited group, in an effort to gain a different outlook or perspective.

If anyone else has any ideas or wants to oppose this perspective, I would not oppose that, I'm just throwing out ideas.

  2. Great idea Group Two! I forwarded your proposal to the WRC and received the following response from the director. Please follow her instructions, it sounds like if you contact them soon they will work with you to set up some interviews. Good luck and please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

    Dr. Shoaff:

Jessi passed on the information about the student proposal attached below. This sounds like a great opportunity for our staff to connect with some of the WS 200 students. I am copying Maria Victoria Perez-Fisher, our education coordinator, who can set up interviews with the staff. We recently met with a group of social work students in 15 minute blocks on a single day, which seemed to work well. I think it may be easiest to have one of the members contact Maria directly when they have considered a date and timeframe that works for the group, and we will schedule the WRC staff accordingly.

Thank you for the support and encouragement you are providing the students.

    Best,

    Elle Shaaban-MagaƱa
